In partnership with Making Movies, we produced an evening that combined live music, documentary film, and artist conversation into a single event. The band performed live before we screened AMERI'KANA, their documentary, giving students a rare chance to experience the music before diving into the story behind it. After the screening, Making Movies took questions from the audience, opening up a real conversation about their artistry, cultural identity, and journey.

What I did:

• Coordinated directly with Making Movies to align on the event format, performance logistics, and Q&A structure

• Secured and managed the Whittenberger Auditorium for a multi-format evening

• Built a marketing strategy that spoke to both film and music audiences across campus

• Managed full night of production across the performance, screening, and Q&A segments to keep the experience seamless

In partnership with Indiana University's Latin Graduate and Professional Student Union, I planned and coordinated a screening of Walkout at Whittenberger Auditorium to recognize a significant day of importance within the Latin community. The film's themes of activism, resilience, and representation created an opportunity for meaningful dialogue beyond the screening itself. The event also featured a special introduction from IU alumnus Rudy López, helping connect the film's message to the experiences and perspectives of the campus community.

What I did:

• Partnered with the Latin Graduate and Professional Student Union to develop and promote the event.

• Coordinated event logistics and venue operations at Whittenberger Auditorium.

• Programmed a screening of Walkout, a film depicting the 1968 East Los Angeles student walkouts for educational equity.

• Collaborated with campus partners to align the event with an important date of significance within the Latin community.

• Organized the event experience, including guest introductions and audience engagement opportunities.

• Facilitated collaboration between student organizations, alumni, and campus stakeholders.

A Welcome Week event that turned the campus pool into an open-air movie theater, giving students a unique way to celebrate the start of a new semester.

To capture the excitement of students returning to campus, I organized a free outdoor screening of The Hangover at Indiana University's outdoor pool as part of Welcome Week programming. Bringing the event to life required close coordination with IU Recreational Sports and Athletics staff to ensure safety procedures were in place while transforming the space into a one night only cinema experience. By combining a popular film with an unexpected venue, the event created a memorable kickoff to the academic year and encouraged students to connect with one another outside the classroom.

• Planned and executed a free Welcome Week movie event for IU students.
